Having read many blogs and listened to many podcasts, it has become clear that decision-making is an area which endlessly fascinates me.
My research has led me to believe that the mind is significantly more complex than I had anticipated. It is also lazy by design and readily manipulated.
I will also give my reasons towards the end of the series as to the methods we can to improve our decision making and as to why 'skillbaticals' i.e. mid-career training will be an enormous industry in the very near future.
Over the next 10 or so posts, I will put out there a few ideas on which I am seeking feedback. It is intended to be written simply and without jargon so that people can access it from any starting point with 10 minutes spare. I will look at a range of topics including the building blocks of your brain, how energy conservation is a key feature of your brain and the role that hormones and emotions play in memory and decision making.
All that's left to say is thank you for being a part of this journey, and i look forward to engagement in the comments.
